About LEE-Rocka

Born Yudha Tia Sutanto on 19 November 1985 in Medan, Indonesia. At the age of 12, I moved to Singapore, where I discovered both the struggles and opportunities that would shape my life. By 15, hip-hop had become my lifeline, and I adopted the stage name LEE-Rocka to represent my identity in the culture I loved. When I became a Singaporean at 16, I was known as Lee Wen Ming Wayne, and in 2012, after reverting to Islam, I embraced the name Danial Lee—a name that reflects my faith, discipline, and renewed purpose.

My journey has not been without hardship. In 2016, I was arrested for drug consumption and possession—a turning point that forced me to confront the reality of the path I was on. Released in 2017, I made a choice: to leave my past behind and rebuild my life with faith, music, and purpose. From selling dope to selling hope, I am now an anti-drug and anti-gang advocate, working with organisations such as the Singapore Anti-Narcotics Association (SANA) and Architects of Life to inspire youth to make better choices than I once did.

Hip-hop is not just entertainment to me—it is culture, therapy, and truth. Too often, rap is stereotyped as nothing more than sex, drugs, and violence. I’ve made it my mission to show that hip-hop can also be a force for positivity, motivation, and empowerment. My music reflects this belief, with tracks like GO JE—a motivational anthem for the “Halal Hustlers”—urging people to pursue their ambitions with courage, faith, and integrity.

Alongside music, I’ve built a career as an actor, appearing in over 20 productions across Mediacorp, Suria, Channel 5, Channel 8, and Viddsee. From crime dramas like Crimewatch to heartfelt indie films, I’ve brought characters to life that reflect the complexity of human struggle and resilience.

In 2025, I was part of a groundbreaking collaboration with 22 rappers that entered the Singapore Book of Records, marking a milestone for the local hip-hop scene. Internationally, I’ve represented Singapore on stages in Malaysia, Thailand, and Hong Kong, and I’m proud to be a member of the global hip-hop collective Battle Axe Global, alongside icons such as Madchild, Demrick, Swollen Members, and Mugg Shot.

Today, with over 1.5 million streams, growing recognition across media outlets including Channel News Asia, Berita Harian, Shin Min Daily News, and podcasts like Run Your Mouth and On Your Way with Joshua Simon, I continue to use my story to spark hope. I also released my first book, Positive LEEving: The Art of Living Positively Through Reason, Faith, and Understanding, where I share the lessons that helped me rebuild my life and stay drug-free, healthy, and driven.

From Medan to Singapore, from the streets to the stage, my story is living proof that redemption is possible. My mission is simple: to inspire, to uplift, and to show the world that no matter your past, your next chapter can be your greatest.
